How do you think the U.S. presidential election will impact U.S.-India relations?

Forging new relationship and taking the already existing bilateral relationship forward to a new extent are two completely different aspects. But these two will come in a single line when the presidential elections are held in a few months from now.

The US-INDIA relation is one which relates to two good friends whose friendship only grows and deepens with time and terms. Both the countries come forward on many issues on a single platform as a single source and as a single communicating channel.

There are five major headings in the US-INDIA relationships, that is, Diplomatic, military, literary and cultural ties, industrial and business ties including technological advancement and the most important of all, the climate change.

As of now, considering the present government of US, in the diplomatic arena , there is a clear stand on the UN security council seat for India, India’s entry into the Nuclear Supplier’s Group to name a few. The US presidential election will certainly bring about a change in the global arena on India’s status, which as I presume , would be even more happier and effective for the whole world. Plus , a personal rapport between the premieres of the two countries counts, which I believe is excellent not only with the current President but also with the contestants for the White House.

The presidential elections will also underline Washington’s effort to curb the menace of terrorism in the region. India being continuously being affected to terrorism, the new entrant to the White House would definitely play a crucial role in the South Asian region with the constant and consistent support of New Delhi.

One of the most Important effects of the result of the US presidential elections would be in the sphere of climate change. With new leaders, new age, comes new ideas..meaning the next POTUS is to be actively involved in tackling the climate change problem. India being  the world’s second  most populous nation, and the fastest growing economy, the US-India partnership on the Global Warming and Climate Control issue would set the standards  and the line for the world to follow. Also the Technological developments from both the countries would help bring in the notice , the important subjects like poverty, water management and waste management, educational reforms,  deeper literary and cultural ties benefitting the likes of both the countries. America, the technological centre of the world and India, the industrial hub can together come forward for a deeper collaboration which will be a test for the leaders of both the countries.

As the US presidential election has narrowed down to two persons, Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton, both of whom are leaders and pioneers in their respective spheres, it will be quite a challenge , in perfectly positive and good sense, for Mr. Narendra Modi to strike a chord with the next president . Mr. Modi, a man of actions, great vision and a Dynamic leader will find it very interesting and easy to take the friendship of the World’s largest democracy and the world’s oldest democracy to new heights together with the support and friendship of the new President of the United States(POTUS).
